The Web Search tab in the Admin Panel is the technical engine of your search platform, allowing you to manage the primary “Surgical Indexing” servers and fine-tune the database caching that makes your engine faster and more cost-effective with every use.

⚡ The Power of Search Caching

Your engine operates on a “Learn as it goes” model, which relies on a sophisticated database cache to provide instant results.

  • Adjustable Cache Duration: You can define exactly how long search results are stored in your database, with a range between 5 and 60 days.
  • Instant Performance Gains: When a user repeats a query, the system serves the result directly from your local database, eliminating external API calls and reducing response times to milliseconds.
  • Cache Management: The dashboard provides real-time statistics, including the total number of cache entries and the age of the oldest and newest entries.
  • Maintenance Tools: An “Identify and Clear All Cache” button allows you to wipe the slate clean, forcing the engine to fetch fresh results for every new query.

🌐 Server & “Yose” List Management

The platform uses specialized search servers to crawl and fetch data. This tab allows you to manage these sources with ease:

  • Active Server Selection: You can choose the primary server used for all web search queries from a dropdown list.
  • Server Status Monitoring: The interface displays a list of all available servers, their URLs, and their current status (e.g., Active or Inactive).
  • Expanding Your Reach: You can easily add new servers by uploading a .zip file containing a .yose server list file.
  • Default Server Integrity: The system includes a protected default server (e.g., Snipesearch Asia) that cannot be modified, ensuring your search engine always has a reliable fallback.

🛠️ Technical Transparency

For advanced administrators, the system provides a direct window into the database:

  • Storage Location: All cached data is stored in the search_cache database table, which can be managed directly via tools like phpMyAdmin if deeper intervention is required.
  • Scalability: By managing multiple servers and optimizing cache duration, you can run a global-scale search engine on standard shared hosting with minimal memory requirements.

By mastering the Web Search settings, you ensure your platform remains the fastest and most efficient alternative to traditional, resource-heavy search engines.
